2026 Season Schedule
Season Kick-off (May 23 & 24)
Full service with daily departures from both Chama, NM and Antonito, CO, including our signature Cumbres Express.
Peak Summer (May 26 – August 29)
Chama and Antonito stations will remain operational 6 days a week. There are no train departures on Monday.
Each morning, passengers will start their journey either on a train or scenic motorcoach depending on the day. (See table below.)

All trains depart at 10:00 AM Mountain Time.
Important: If your journey begins with our scenic motorcoach, you must arrive at your starting depot by 8:30 AM for check-in and boarding.
* The scenic motorcoach isn’t just a ride — it’s part of your adventure. Enjoy spectacular mountain scenery, open valleys, and the beautiful Rio Grande corridor between depots.
Fall Colors (August 30 – October 25)
Daily departures return to both depots (Tuesday–Sunday) for our spectacular autumn season.

Sprang for the parlour car and it was worth it...great vistas, wonderful service and the whole experience was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Lunch was superb. Saw elk, deer, antelope...loved the 10, 500 feet summit and the whole train experience.
