All Aboard for Moonlight, Rails, and Scenery!

 

August 8, 2008, Chama, New Mexico. Ride the rails, take in the scenery and gaze at the moonlight aboard the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad!

Imagine a star-studded night sky and the glow of the full moon while riding this historic train into the heart of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The C&TS RR is offering two Full-Moon night rides to experience this uncommon evening trip. The first ride is scheduled for August and the second in September.
Chama Moonlight Dinner Trains

Hop on board for a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of a Rocky Mountain sunset on this “Dinner Train Special”. Each of the two “Moonlight Specials” will depart from the Chama Depot at 3:00 PM and will climb the rails providing a sunset view of the mountains up to the old stagecoach stop and mining town of Osier, Colorado. There the train riders will be regaled with a tasty home-style hot meal prepared in this high mountain kitchen by Chef Steven Flowers and the staff of Narrow Gauge Caterers Inc. The return trip will bring the riders back down the mountain under the glow of the full moon and starry night sky. It is scheduled to arrive back in Chama at 9:30 PM.

Fares for the Moonlight Special are: Adult Coach ticket price is $75, Adult Parlor Car tickets are $125, and Child Coach tickets are $45. Reservations are highly recommended.
