All Aboard the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad---Experience History, Scenery and Machinery!

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad has added some great new train rides and expanded their popular family rides this season. Gas prices might be up, but fun is right in your back yard. And thanks to these special train trips designed to entertain everyone from dear old dad to all the kids, the C&TS RR is combining fun with unique and affordable family adventures! Each train celebrates a different theme and opportunity to experience antique railroading, spectacular scenery and affordable, family adventure all close to home.

• Father’s Day is June 15th, and the C&TSRR has bundled up a great outing with special discounts for Dad! The C&TSRR is offering a Father’s Day Special of 10% off the normal ticket price for Dad from June 13-15, when he is accompanied by at least one family member. Father will also be presented with a complimentary Father’s Day gift (a collectible C&TS RR pin) when he rides any of these three days.

• Every Thursday from June 12 to August 14, the “Cinder Bear Express,” will operate a shorter trip designed especially for children. Everybody loves Cinder Bear, the train's official mascot. Kids and parents join him for the four-hour round trip from Chama, New Mexico to Cumbres Pass. The trip is filled with songs, games, and storytelling and a picnic lunch in the mountains. Each child goes home with a Cinder Bear souvenir and special family memories!

• New this year, from July 6 to August 24, the C&TS RR will offer the “Sunday Express,” from Chama to Cumbres and return. These Sunday trains will depart the historic Chama Depot and take train riders on a 4-hour themed family adventure. The line up includes: The Nature Train, Wild West Train, 4th of July Freedom Train, a Mariachi as well as Gospel Train with more themed trips being planned for the Sunday Express.
