A Fantasy Holiday Weekend in an Old-Fashioned Village---CHAMA!

Chama brings a special meaning to the Holiday Season! The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and the community of Chama have teamed up 
to create a Magical Holiday Weekend for December 5-7th, 2008.
 

An Old-Fashioned Holiday Weekend starts off in grand style with a fantasy steam train ride. There will be two holiday trains rolling out of the Chama Depot on Saturday, December 6th, delighting passengers of all ages with a ride aboard this authentic 1880’s steam train! The “Cinder Bear Christmas Express” is a fun, old-fashioned holiday treat for the whole family! The hour and half train ride includes appearances from Santa and Cinder Bear along with carols, stories, and treats as the train travels through the snowy landscape of the San Juan Mountains of Northern New Mexico.
 

Adding to the fun, The Village of Chama plays host with a slate of holiday events at the 6th annual “Chama Christmas Sampler Weekend.” Fun old-fashioned family activities abound, including Santa appearances, Farolito Lighting on Main Street, a model Train Display, kid's holiday activities, arts and crafts…and more!

Saturday evening is sure to add holiday charm with the Official Lighting of the Village Christmas Tree, Caroling and a Bonfire. Throw in a snowy setting amidst the beauty of the San Juan Mountains and it all adds up to an Old-Fashioned Northern New Mexico Christmas--A Christmas in Chama for everyone!
